Celebrating Beacon’s Bright Future: Karimah Muhammad, 2024 Making a Difference Scholarship Recipient

We are thrilled to announce the 2024 Making a Difference Scholarship recipient: Karimah Muhammad! A graduating senior from Beacon High School, Karimah is set to embark on an exciting journey at the University at Albany, SUNY this fall, where she will major in Public Health/Pre-Health in preparation for medical school.

Karimah’s dedication to her academic pursuits and her passion for health and wellness have set her apart as an exceptional candidate for this scholarship. Her commitment to making a positive impact in the field of public health aligns perfectly with the mission of the Making a Difference Scholarship, which supports outstanding students from Beacon High School in their pursuit of higher education and their dreams of making a difference in their communities.

The Making a Difference Scholarship, funded by proceeds from our annual iRunBeacon5K, provides $2,000 over four years to support Karimah in her academic journey. This scholarship aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens of college and encourage Karimah to continue her path toward a career in medicine, where she plans to make significant contributions to public health.
